Uinta Mountains Retreat

We were priveledged to go to the Uinta's with our new friends the Jensens. We stayed over Labor Day weekend from Saturday morning until Monday night. When we got there on Saturday, we found the bathroom in shambles and spent a good part of the day repairing it so we would have those facilities. Here Bryan & Michael working together to make it useable again. The bathroom sink was missing a valve and Michael had to run to Home Depot in Evanston, WY to get the parts necessary.

Kaela and Melanie made friends fast and were practically inseparable while we were there. Here they are laughing at Melanie's burps from her "purple flurp" drink. Saturday the weather was nice enough to have a hot dog/bratwurst roast over the fire. We were also able to have s'mores that night too.

Here Michael is roasting his bratwurst. He probably ate a few all by himself.

Stewart is eating his hot dog. He had already started to not feel well

as he had caught some sort of bug during his first week of kindergarten.

Bryan brought his beagle "Missy" with us. She was very well behaved and only barked a few times when she saw wildlife go by. We may not have seen the two buck wander through our property on Sunday morning otherwise.

Somehow there were still pictures of me even though the camera only left my hands once...

Baby Ashley was a joy and fun to hold this weekend. Every chance I got I was holding this little one with such a big smile.

Bryan was our chef for the weekend when it came to Dutch oven food. We had "Bishop's Breakfast" on Sunday morning, pork ribs and cheesy potatoes on Sunday evening. Too bad the cobbler got rained out!

Monday morning the rain stopped just enough for the kids and I to go to the river down the Moose Lane hike while both daddies were gone fishing. Just as we got back to the van it started to snow and continued to snow the rest of the day until late afternoon.

Kaela found the biggest puddle on the trail and almost jumped in, I quickly took this picture before I had to run and stop her. LOL!



Michael & Bryan got to go fishing Monday morning. It was cold and due to an lack of fish and an abundance of snow, they came back early to our delight and surprise. We spent the rest of the day getting ready to go and playing more board games.

Carter is almost two and a sweetheart. Here he is playing peek-a-boo with his daddy between the stair rails.


We had a lot of fun and want to go again with the Jensens. Hopefully the fish and the weather will both be a little more cooperative again.
